Minister Counselor Liang Guixuan Delivered a Speechon China-Africa Trade at Tswalu Dialogue in South Africa

At the invitation of the South African Institute of International Affairs, Mr. Liang Guixuan, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa attended the 4th Tswalu Dialogue and delivered a speech on China-Africa Trade.

 

Mr. Liang elaborated on the overall situation of  China-Africa trade and economic cooperation, the outstanding issues, and multi-pronged measures taken by the Chinese side to further strengthen the economic relations between the two sides. He also gave a brief introduction on the measures adopted by the Chinese government to ease the pressure on African countries caused by Chinese textile export.

 

The Tswalu Dialogue commenced in 2002 as an initiative of the South African Institute of International Affairs, the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies and the African Centre for Strategic Studies, and has been hosted by South African business tycoon Jonathan and Jennifer Oppenheimer. It aims at providing a forum for political leaders, diplomats, business people and academics to discuss matters of critical importance to Africa's development. About 30 people from S.A. and other countries around the world attended the dialogue this year.
