This interview is one part of Xinhua's  special news coverage program called "Focusing on Africa", which aims to promote better understanding between the Chinese and African people through in-depth and objective reports on the eve of the FOCAC(Forum on China-Africa Cooperation) Summit.

According to Liu, as both developing countries, China and its African friends share far-ranging common grounds in pursuit of development and prosperity.  Especially in recent years, the traditional friendship gained new drive as the Chinese government enhances its efforts to support Africa in all-around aspects. The upcoming FOCAC summit in early November will see more concrete measures from the Chinese side to help Africa, which will further boost the development the new China-Africa strategic partnership.

Speaking of South Africa, whose GDP last year amounted to more than a quarter of Africa's total, Liu pointed out that with excellent bilateral relations, good infrastructure, developed legal system and stable political situation, SA is a good place to invest.
