| Two Books On China written By South Africans Launched in Midrand |

| Two books on China written by South Africans, namely China Through The Third Eye – South African Perspective and Doing Business In China – The System And The Strategies, were formally launched on November 26 in Midrand. The launch ceremony, cosponsored by International Global Dialogue (IGD) and Beijing Axis, was attended by up to 70 people among whom were leading member of IGD and Beijing Axis, government officials, businessmen, scholars and some heads of Asian and African diplomatic missions in South Africa. Mr. Liang Guixuan, Charge de affaire of the Chinese Embassy, delivered a warm speech, in which he congratulated IGD and Beijing Axis on the successful publishing of these two books, which took the lead in helping South African to have a better understanding of China, while giving them tips on how to do business in China. Liang also thanked them for their effort in promoting mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between the Chinese and South African people. Dr. Garth le Pere, executive director of IGD and Mr. Kobus van der Wath, president of Beijing Axis respectively gave a brief presentation on the objective and content of the two books. They hoped readers to learn more about the reality and peculiarity of China and interact and do business with Chinese people in the spirit of respecting and appreciating the value and culture of this country. China Through The Third Eye is compiled by Dr. Garth le pere. It is a selection of 18 articles written by SA Ministers, Members of Parliament, leading entrepreneurs and famous scholars about their impression on China after their recent visits to China. It reflects the rapid growth and dramatic change in China in all works of life. The book is divided into three parts: (1) China's Foreign Policy and International Relations; (2) Economy and Politics; (3) Society and Culture. Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Aziz Pahad writes the preface of the book. Written by Mr. Kobus van der Wath, Doing Business In China is a book talking about China's investment environment and the strategies for SA enterprises doing business in China. It is divided into two parts. The first part informs the readers of China's history, culture, politics and economic environment from the South African perspective. The second part, by citing examples, analyses the opportunities and challenges of SA firms investing in China and offers the practical strategies to deal with the situation. The book is valuable for SA businessmen to do business in China. They are the first two books written by South Africans to introduce China. Both of them will be for sale from early December.
