In order to smoothly carry out the gala cultural event --- "2006 South Africa Experiences China" in November, 2006, a 7-member Chinese Delegation, headed by Mr. Yan Zhong Hua, general manager of Beijing New Impression Culture Development Co., Ltd., paid an on-spot visit to the museums and theatres in Pretoria and Cape Town from July 13th to 23rd and held discussions with the local counterparts.
National Cultural History Museum, the venue of the opening ceremony of the cultural event and the Exhibition of China Fine Arts and Culture, was the first place the said Chinese Delegation visited on the first day when they arrived in South Africa. The Delegation investigated the facilities inside and outside the Museum, the safety measures adopted by the counterparts. They also held friendly discussions with the technicians and curators from the Museum for holding the gala cultural event successfully. A co-operation agreement would also be reached between Beijing New Impression Culture Development Co., Ltd. and the Museum.
The Chinese Delegation also visited some theatres in Pretoria and Cape Town, where the imitating songs and dances in Tang Dynasty, the Female Songs and Dances Ensemble from Sichuan Province of China, Chinese Clothes and their Ornaments Show with the Name of "New Silk Road" and Chinese Shaolin martial arts will be staged.
The Embassy of People's Republic of China in South Africa, one of the sponsors of the Event, also actively supported and coordinated the meeting between the Chinese side and their local counterparts and enabled the Chinese Delegation to fulfill its investigation mission of visiting South Africa within this month.
