Charge d'Affaires Zhou Yuxiao gave a speech at the Business School of Wits University

On October 28, at the invitation of Business School of University of the Witwatersrand, Mr. Zhou Yuxiao, the Charge d'Affaires of Chinese Embassy in South Africa gave a speech on China, China-South Africa and China-Africa relations to the Business School students who are going to make a study tour of China next month.

Mr. Zhou pointed out during the speech that though China had made great progress in economic development and poverty reduction, huge challenges remained ahead in terms of environment protection and jobs creation given the large base of working population. The relations between China and South Africa are excellent as high-level exchange of visits maintain frequent. This year also can be called China's Year of Africa, China released an important White Paper on China's policy toward Africa at the beginning of this year, followed by Chinese President and Premier's visit to the continent in April and June respectively and would culminate with the holding of China-Africa Cooperation Forum in Beijing at the beginning of November. After the speech, Mr. Zhou also answered questions during Q&A session.
